Time to take a deep breath and welcome in more support and ease into your life! I look forward to collaborating in service of your wellness and liberation. I am passionate about supporting others to feel and live with more freedom - in mind, body, and spirit. I'm honored to usher others into an empowered relationship to their body and a life of power, purpose, and trust in themselves and their unique path.
I use research-based, effective approaches to process trauma, improve self-esteem, and work with anxiety and many other issues. We do this by utilizing EMDR, creative arts therapy, and body-based counseling for trauma resolution as well as mindfulness and an eclectic mix of approaches to fit each unique person and situation.
While anyone is welcome to reach out, some areas of specialty have included:
Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Women’s Mental Health
Personal Growth and Self-Esteem
I grew up in Iowa and attended Luther College, receiving a BA in Elementary Education. While teaching in Brussels, Belgium, I had the wonderful opportunity of being able to work and travel extensively around Europe. Upon returning to the states, I taught at a Montessori Charter School in Sedona, Arizona for several years. Although I loved Sedona and the desert, my heart brought me to Boulder to pursue a Master’s Degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology. This was inspired by a growing interest in how all of our experiences, and particularly how trauma impacts and can manifest in the body. This began a lifelong exploration of a mind-body-spirit approach to health and wellness.
Since that time, in the last decade, I have had a depth and range of experiences, both personally and professionally that have given greater dimension to my practice. Some of which include: working with a wide variety of clients; providing supervision to clinicians in training, teaching college courses, and a variety of integrative trainings and workshops to continue learning.
Having experience working with infants through adults has given me a developmental perspective to my work, along with a patient and playful approach. No matter what age, I feel that genuine presence, compassionate care, and consistent support is foundational. With a Somatic perspective, I aim to empower clients through greater embodiment and awareness, leading to informed choices and greater freedom. This includes supporting clients to orient inwards, building trust in one's own inner knowing in order to align this knowing with outer action.
Please feel free to be in touch with any questions, and I look forward to connecting!
